Yesterday, sentiment in the markets turned out to be mixed when we compared Europe with the United States. Donald Trump's Friday statements in which he pointed to China as the culprit and maker of the coronavirus, was probably the cause that led to European losses yesterday as its markets were closed on Friday. American stock markets, on the other hand, had a day of recovery.
As for numbers, in Europe, its main reference index - Stoxx 600 - fell 2.65%. In the United States, it was possible to observe that the Dow Jones index grew by 0.22% while the Nasdaq index increased by 1.23% and the S & P500 index rose by 0.42%.
In the debt market, there was an increase in demand for this type of asset, leading to a decrease in its yields.
In the foreign exchange market, the US Dollar is recovering in value after last week's heavy losses.
Crude eventually stabilised yesterday, having been influenced by mixed market sentiment.
The "yellow metal" ended the day in green, having mostly reflected the aversion to European risk.
