Once again, yesterday was marked by a sentiment of a great aversion to risk. Several investment banks predict a contraction in world GDP in the first two quarters of this year, leading to a technical recession.
The main world exchanges ended up falling as a consequence of this and the Stoxx 600 - the main European reference index - depreciated by about 3.92%. The North American indices also fell with the Dow Jones losing 6.3%, the S&P 500 depreciating by 5.18 % and the Nasdaq falling by 4.70%.
Interest rates on the debt rose again, with more secure assets also having no significant demand.
The Euro fell against the Dollar, given the appreciation of the American currency in recent days, while the Pound lost value with Boris Johnson's lack of response to curbing the spread of the virus.
Oil fell sharply yesterday and dropped by 22% - it was the third worst day ever.
Gold depreciated by 2.89 % with investors selling the asset in order to support losses in the capital market.
