MetaQuotes, the developer of the MetaTrader trading platform, advises you that prior to the installation of the Windows 10 April 2018 Update it is required to save your passwords in a safe place to be able to access the trading platform. This precautionary measure will allow you to gain access without obstruction to your account(s) on the MetaTrader platform after the Windows 10 April 2018 Update.
As of 30 April, 2018, Microsoft officially launches another big update of the Windows 10 operating system. This Update alters configuration and encryption keys as it typically happens when installing a new Windows OS.
Committed to protect user data, the MetaTrader trading platform uses a binder to the computer's operating system and hardware, on which it is installed, therefore all the passwords to your accounts on the MetaTrader platform that were saved on your computer will become invalid. The installation of the Windows 10 April 2018 Update will lead to a password reset.
According to MetaQuotes, “none of the Market purchasers will lose their activation after the Windows 10 April 2018 Update.”
